The New England Center and Home for Veterans

workplacediversityA native of Medford, Massachusetts, Frank X. McCarthy, the founder of Diverse Workplace, is a diversity recruiting and sourcing pioneer. Over the years he has placed hundreds of individuals at all levels of companies and organizations.

In 1973 Frank founded Xavier Associates to do diversity recruiting and candidate sourcing. He sold Xavier Associates in 1999 to Gatti & Associates. In 2002 Frank established Diverse Workplace.

In 2011 the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA) gave Frank their annual Diversity Champion Award. In 2013 NEHRA named this award the Frank X. McCarthy Diversity Champion Award.

In 2015, The Boston Area Talent Sourcing Association (www.batsa.us) awarded Frank their first Lifetime Achievement Award.

Frank was a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Paterson, NJ. After three years at St. Nicolas Parish in Passaic, N.J. he volunteered for military service. He served six years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper chaplain with tours in Korea, Camp Zama, Japan, the Second Infantry and the 101st Airborne Divisions. After his military service he was appointed pastor of an inner city parish in Paterson. During these five years he was deeply involved in many civil rights issues, activities and projects in the African American and Latino communities.

In 1970 Frank joined the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity where he worked in Community Action Programs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Frank has his M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. He is a former President of the Massachusetts Professional Placement Consultants. He served eighteen years (three years as President) on the Board of Trustees of the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center.
